Last night, mum, dad, Boby and I went to the local orphanage to gave them dinner. Mum made potfuls of chapattis, dal, mug bean sag and dessert. It was an eye opening visit, I can't remember the last time I visited an orphanage I think I was ten or twelve back then.  Not that I am not thankful with what I have but made me realize how blessed and rich I am compared to these guys. Some of them had been abandoned by their own mothers as infants at the orphanage doorsteps, and most of the elderly folks there were abandoned by their kids at the local hospital and sent here by good Samaritans. They all stay in a huge 3500sqft with sprawling garden donated to them by a good doctor. And just 15 mins away from my house. It's a small world after all

I love this place, the music lulls me and I can pay whatever I like for the food. This place is run by monks and a Buddhist temple. You can always count on Chinese temple for good, healthy grub. I had some mock meat, a bowl of red bean soup and chilli paste, soup was someone else's

I went like why is the sambal so little? But when I shoved one mouthful in my eager mouth I realized why. I especially liked the star shaped rice they provided. They ran out of nasi lemak rice so it was substituted with normal white rice. I'd rate it 6/10

Trip last weekend to memory lane

I went at a wrong timing, on a Friday so the place was overcrowded and I was overwhelmed by the presence of so many Malays decked in headscuffs, I mean headscarfs hehe

The keuy teow was salty, the waiter mixed up our coffee orders (coffee was strong and nice), the nasi lemak biasa was fantastic, the vegetarianised fried rice was good. Overall I'd rate this place 5/10 haha

Well, you never know what you're going to get until you don't try it out..so I just bought me a saree from the folks at Utsav sarees and lets see how it goes...

And my saree came in the mail two weeks ago and this is how it looked in real:
