Trip to the Jugra Orphanage

Friday, March 23, 2012 0 Comments
Last night, mum, dad, Boby and I went to the local orphanage to gave them dinner. Mum made potfuls of chapattis, dal, mug bean sag and dessert. It was an eye opening visit, I can't remember the last time I visited an orphanage I think I was ten or twelve back then.  Not that I am not thankful with what I have but made me realize how blessed and rich I am compared to these guys. Some of them had been abandoned by their own mothers as infants at the orphanage doorsteps, and most of the elderly folks there were abandoned by their kids at the local hospital and sent here by good Samaritans. They all stay in a huge 3500sqft with sprawling garden donated to them by a good doctor. And just 15 mins away from my house. It's a small world after all

Cycling in Banting

Saturday, November 19, 2011 0 Comments
I took the single lane road to Sg Buaya heading towards Jugra and I was welcomed by vast fields of palm oils as far as the eye can see and the intermittent honking of cars brought me back to reality. Somewhere near the fields, I saw a lone man fishing near the tiny stream running along the plantation. That was by far the bestest cycling trip ever. I can't believe I spent all my childhood discovering Pulau and getting chased by some fierce dogs out there. On the other hand, because of the narrow roads, I had to share the space with motorbikes, cars and some heavy trucks. On my way back, a herd of cows were racing towards me, and I had to stop momentarily to decide on where to go when I realise someone was herding them from behind on a motorbike. LOL. Things have definitely changed in Banting. Not to mention some cars with children inside them that slowed down to stare at me and the awe-faced children from an open restaurant I had to turn my head to look because they were screaming and pointing fingers at me. Really? Tomorrow I'm heading towards Morib. Let's see if I can get back in one piece!

Death In Town

Sunday, April 04, 2010 0 Comments
The only time a ChinaMan is remembered is when he is dead. Extravagant and lavish funeral ceremonies even the King can't beat. C'mon funeral grounds that pipe out 60s songs when you walk near the stones? Free flow of chinese wine, pork roast, non-stop rounds of gambling. You people have it good. Indian people can learn a thing or two from Chinaman. Won't hurt to $pend.

I think this guy was a rich man...because not only did they hired a band, but also "gods" and uni-cyclists

Paper cut "mansion" for after world

Some "gods" and unicyclists

A small break....

...and back to work!

I forgot the color codes but I think blue means grandchildren?
